Dear BVC Family,

In accordance with the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and the Colorado Department of Public Health (CDPHE), and in order to do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we will be implementing the following procedures effective March 19, 2020. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please stay safe and healthy during this unprecedented time.

Procedures Effective March 19, 2020

  • Pets experiencing an emergency or critical illness will still be seen, along with puppies and kittens in need of their core vaccinations. These pets will be seen following strict safety precautions in order to protect our staff and clients.
  • ALL ROUTINE WELLNESS EXAMS AND ELECTIVE SURGERIES WILL BE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
  • ALL TECHNICIAN APPOINTMENTS WILL BE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE (nail trims, anal gland expression, etc.).
  • If you have a pet with an urgent need for veterinary attention and have recently travelled internationally, are in a regional community of transmission or have had known contact with another human infected with COVID-19, please make arrangements for someone else to bring your pet to their appointment.
  • If you are unable to make arrangements for someone else to bring your pet in for you and you meet the above criteria OR are experiencing respiratory symptoms (coughing/sneezing/fever), STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE when you arrive. Call the clinic (303-410-8522) and a technician will come to your vehicle to retrieve your pet and obtain your pet’s history and symptoms. Be aware, the technician will be wearing proper protective equipment and distancing themselves (3-6 feet) from you while obtaining your pet’s history. This is in order to protect you as well as our staff members. We will double-leash your pet with our leashes and your pet will be taken immediately into an exam room where he/she will be examined by one of our doctors. If you are bringing a cat, please make sure your cat is brought in a CLEAN carrier. The doctor will call you on the phone to discuss findings and treatment options.
  • At the end of the appointment, payment may be made via telephone. One of our staff members will return your pet to you, along with any instructions, prescription medications or food.
  • If you are someone you know is infected or presumed to be infected with COVID-19, the infected person should avoid contact with the pet prior to the pet’s appointment. This includes petting, snuggling, being kissed or licked by the pet and sharing food.
  • We will remain open during this time for prescription refills. PLEASE CALL THE CLINIC (303-410-8522) when you are outside, and a staff member will bring your goods to you. Payment will be accepted via telephone. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this difficult time and wish you all good health and happiness. We will provide updates as this situation evolves.

*We are currently exploring telemedicine options to better serve you and your pets. We will keep you updated. We are in this together!
